School History
Dresden Elementary School, located at 2449 Dresden Drive in Chamblee, Georgia, has served students since its opening September 3, 1963. The school was constructed to alleviate the overcrowded conditions at Skyland and Cary Reynolds Elementary Schools. Initially, Dresden was designed to serve grades one through seven. When sixth and seventh grades were moved to the newly designated Sequoyah Middle School in 1996, Dresden became a kindergarten through fifth grade school.
Chamblee, Georgia, is one of the most heavily populated and ethnically diverse communities in the DeKalb County School District. The student body currently exceeds 1,000 students from at least twenty countries.
