Registration - August 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians:

The first day of school will be August 17, 2020. DeKalb County School District will provide students a device to complete virtual learning at home. Dresden Elementary School will hold local school registration on August 12th – 14th, from 8:00 am to 12 pm. 3rd- 5th grade students will receive devices at registration.  Devices for Kindergarten – 2nd grade students have been ordered and will be distributed later.


Parents of Kindergarteners or other students who did not attend a DeKalb school last year are asked to complete virtual registration before coming to the school.   You must call to schedule an appointment with the DeKalb International Welcome Center at 678-538-5246, 678-500-6855, or 678-538-5121 as soon as possible.


All parents of Dresden students are asked to complete the Student Information Sheet, Parent Authorization Form, and Device User Agreement attached. Parents must also provide a current proof of residence. Proof of Residence must include one of the following:

* Current utility bill (gas, electric, or water only – no phone bills),

* Signed lease,

* Mortgage contract, or

* Co-residency/Statement of Legal Residence (Affidavit):

(1) Current utility bill in the name of the homeowner or lessee;

(2) An official or current business letter from their place of employment or other official business letter addressed to the parent or guardian to them at their place of residence;

(3) Must be updated each semester by both the homeowner or individual leasing a residence plus the parent of the child being enrolled must be present when the affidavit is presented to the school.


In order to receive a teacher assignment and device for your student(s), parents must return all completed forms to Dresden Elementary School following the schedule below.
